Overview

eAadhaar is a digitally signed PDF version of your Aadhaar card, issued directly by UIDAI. It is legally equivalent to the physical Aadhaar card and is accepted as valid identity proof across India โ€” for banks, government offices, airports, and more. You can download your eAadhaar at any time using your 12-digit Aadhaar number, 28-digit Enrollment ID (EID), or Virtual ID (VID). The downloaded PDF is password-protected for security. Default password: First 4 letters of your name in UPPERCASE + your birth year. Example: If your name is "SURESH KUMAR" and you were born in 1990, the password is SURE1990. If name starts with fewer than 4 letters (e.g., "ALI"), use all letters: ALI1990.

OTP not received on mobile
Your mobile number may not be registered with UIDAI. Check by calling 1947. If mobile is registered but OTP is not arriving, wait 5 minutes and try again, or request a new OTP.
PDF password not working
The password is the first 4 letters of your Aadhaar name in UPPERCASE followed by your 4-digit birth year. Example: SURE1990. If your name has fewer than 4 letters, use all letters. If name has special characters (like '.'), try without them. If name starts with initials (like 'S. Suresh'), try SURE or S.SU โ€” check how your name appears on Aadhaar.
