About Us

India's Free Citizen Rights Platform

NagrikIQ helps millions of Indians navigate government services, welfare schemes, and civic rights — in plain language, completely free, with no login required. We bridge the gap between complex bureaucracy and the citizens it is meant to serve.

Our Mission

Making India's government services accessible to every citizen.

India has hundreds of welfare schemes, rights, and portals — but navigating them is needlessly hard. Confusing jargon, broken links, outdated information, and language barriers leave millions of eligible citizens unable to claim what is rightfully theirs. NagrikIQ bridges that gap by translating official processes into clear, step-by-step guidance that anyone can follow — whether they are applying for a caste certificate in a village in Jharkhand or checking their EPFO balance from a mobile phone in Tamil Nadu.

Our goal is simple: if a scheme or right exists for an Indian citizen, they should be able to find out about it, understand it, and access it — without paying an agent or relying on word of mouth.

Our Team

NagrikIQ is built and maintained by a small team of researchers, writers, and technologists passionate about making government services accessible to every Indian. We are not a government body, NGO, or political organisation. We are independent professionals who believe that access to civic information is a fundamental right — not a privilege limited to those who can afford legal or consultancy fees.

Our researchers track official government notifications, scheme circulars, and portal updates on an ongoing basis. Our writers translate bureaucratic language into plain English and regional-friendly phrasing. Our technologists build the tools that make information searchable and usable.

Our Editorial Standards

Official Sources Only
All guides are researched exclusively from official .gov.in and .nic.in portals, government circulars, and Acts of Parliament. We do not rely on third-party aggregators or unofficial sources.
Regular Content Reviews
Every guide on NagrikIQ is reviewed every 3 to 6 months to ensure accuracy. Government processes, fee structures, and eligibility criteria change frequently — we track those changes and update our content accordingly.
Dead Link Checks
We regularly audit all external links and fix or remove any broken links to government portals. If an official portal changes its URL, we update our references within days.
State Variation Disclosures
Many central government schemes are implemented differently across states. Wherever information may vary by state — such as income certificate fees, ration card categories, or land record portals — we explicitly disclose that and provide state-specific guidance where available.
No Speculation
We only publish what we can verify from official documents. If a process is ambiguous or under revision, we say so rather than guess.

Our Accuracy Commitment

Accuracy is the foundation of NagrikIQ. Incorrect civic information can cause real harm — missed deadlines, wasted trips to government offices, or failed applications. We take that responsibility seriously.

Official Government Portals Only
We only link to official government portals — never to paid services, brokers, or unofficial third-party sites. Every external link is verified to be a live .gov.in or .nic.in URL at the time of publication.
Verified Fees and Eligibility
All application fees and eligibility criteria mentioned in our guides are sourced and verified from official government circulars, gazette notifications, or portal FAQs. We do not estimate or approximate figures.
Change Disclaimers
Wherever government fees, processes, or eligibility rules are subject to frequent change — such as passport fees, EPFO claim limits, or PM scheme eligibility — we add an explicit disclaimer advising users to verify the latest details from the official portal before applying.
Correction Policy
If you find an error on any NagrikIQ page, please contact us. We investigate and publish corrections within 48 hours of verification.

Why We Built This

India's 1.4 billion citizens interact with government services at every stage of life — from birth certificates to pension claims. Yet the official portals are fragmented across hundreds of central and state websites, often in bureaucratic language that assumes prior knowledge.

First-generation internet users, rural citizens, and people without formal education are the most affected. They either give up on legitimate entitlements or pay touts and agents for information that should be freely available. NagrikIQ was built to change that — one guide at a time.

Our Promise to You

Free Forever
NagrikIQ will never charge citizens for information or access. Not now, not ever.
No Login Required
You should never have to create an account to learn your rights.
Plain Language
Every guide is written so a Class 10 student can understand it.
Regularly Updated
Government processes change — we track and update our content every 3 to 6 months, and sooner for major policy changes.
No Misinformation
We only publish what we can verify against official sources. We would rather say "we don't know" than publish something unverified.
State Transparency
We tell you when information varies by state so you can find what applies to your situation.
